Plasmid :
- Plasmid are circular,double stranded and extra chromosomal DNA molecules present in Bacteria.
- They are no essential for bacterial growth and metablosism.
- Many bacteria contain PLasmid in addition to chrosomosomes.
Functions of Plasmid :
- They contain Drug and heavy metal resistant genes.
- They contain insect and disease resistan genes.
- Plasmid are used as vectors is modern genetic engineering.
