The organic compound which simply consist of C,O and H can be analysed by combustion analysis. The Sole products are CO2 , H2O.These products formed as a result of combustion analysis are collected separately.
Steps of Combustion Analysis :
Steps of Combustion Analysis :
- The Organic compound are weigh.
- Then organic compound is placed in combustion tube.
- The tube is fitted in combustion chamber.
- Hydrogen is converted in water
- Carbon is converted in carbon dioxide.
- Water is absorbed by potassium per magnate.
- Carbon dioxide is absorbed by 50% KOH.
The Difference in the masses of these absorbers gives the amount of water and carbon dioxide produced.
